Chicago turned a sunny Sunday into a dumpling passport: World Dumpling Fest filled Wrightwood Park on September 20 with more than ten restaurants, live music, cultural performances, and local makers.
The Chicago Cultural Alliance describes dumplings as a delicious way to connect the city’s many cultural communities. The event’s menu ranged from steamed bao to pierogi, while performances and storytelling kept the park moving between bites.
Tickets supported the Alliance’s work with 52 cultural heritage centers. In other words, one afternoon supplied dinner, a soundtrack, and a small geography lesson—an efficient use of a napkin.
