Fairborn’s Sweet Corn Festival Puts a Corn-Eating Contest on the Clock

Fairborn, Ohio, has made sweet corn a team sport for the day. The official schedule for the 44th Annual Fairborn Sweet Corn Festival lists a noon corn-eating contest between the City of Fairborn and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base at the festival’s information tent.

The two-day, free-admission community festival is at Community Park, with steamed corn, craft booths, food vendors, children’s activities, and entertainment also on the program. Saturday’s contest gives the local specialty an unusually direct starring role.
